Polisi Menangkap 3 Tersangka Baru dalam Kasus Judi Online Komdigi, Jumlah Total Menjadi 14 Orang

Subdit Jatanras (Economic and Special Crimes Sub-Directorate) of the Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police has arrested three new suspects in the case of unblocking online gambling sites involving employees of the Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi). This brings the total number of suspects in the case to 14.

• Arrests and Asset Seizure: The arrests were confirmed by the Director of Criminal Investigation, Kombes Wira Tri Satya Putra, who stated that a total of 14 suspects have been apprehended. The police are continuing their investigations and have vowed to seize assets acquired through the illegal activities.

• Internal Clean-up: Following the involvement of a Komdigi employee in the online gambling case, Minister of Communication and Digital, Meutya Hafid, emphasized the importance of internal cleansing. A integrity pact has been established for all Komdigi officials to combat online gambling.

• Government Directive: Both the Minister and the Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital, Angga Raka Prabowo, reiterated President Prabowo’s directive to eradicate online gambling and the commitment to support law enforcement in protecting the public.

• Previous Arrests: Prior to these latest arrests, 11 individuals, including Komdigi officials and a civilian, were apprehended in connection with the case. It was revealed that the abuse of blocking authority led to the proliferation of online gambling sites.

• Misuse of Authority: The suspects, who allegedly received payments from online gambling sites, failed to block the sites and instead provided them with protection. Each site was reportedly paying around Rp 8.5 million to avoid being shut down.
